Brazil provides a sample, not a continental ranking

ABVE records 80,178 BEVs in Brazil in 2025, up 30% from 2024.

The model table uses FENABRAVE registrations and keeps the Dolphin Mini and Dolphin separate. We do not extrapolate their positions to all of Latin America. Brazil’s total for electrified vehicles also includes hybrids without external charging, so it should not replace a plug-in car total in the growth chart.

Applying the comparison to your city

Editorial perspective: first find two quotes available where you live. Include delivery, warranty, maintenance and insurance. If a model is sold under a different name in a neighbouring country, confirm its local specification before treating its consumption or battery figures as equivalent.

Try a small planning exercise: identify where you would charge in a normal week and how much time you would spend. Check the full tariff, including any session or parking charges. For an occasional journey outside the city, plan another charging option and add that cost to the travel scenario.

Comparing savings with local references

Enter electricity and fuel prices in the same currency. If you use several charging tariffs, calculate two results: the cost of a typical week and a week with more public charging. This helps show how much the estimate depends on your access to a charging point.

Our editorial approach separates purchase and use. The car’s price and finance terms deserve their own budget; energy is calculated using kilometres and consumption. Keep both calculations to check whether the option fits your monthly spending. Brazil’s sales provide context, while availability and prices in your locality define the comparison.
